MEET OUR PASTOR

Elder Matthew Jackson is a young man with a heart for serving the people of God. He was born to Albert and Delores Jackson in 1988, born and raised in Albany, NY. As a child, he was taught the importance of serving and aiding the people of God wherever there was a need. His mother, Delores Jackson, instilled in him at a young age that every soul matters to God.

In 2004, Elder Jackson accepted salvation and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Two years later, he was appointed as armor bearer to Pastor McKinley Johnson. In 2007, he graduated from Bishop Maginn High School and went on to attend Hudson Valley Community College to study Criminal Justice. The following year, he joined the National COGIC Adjutant Corps under the leadership of Adjutant General Bishop Matthew Williams, where he still presently serves. He received an assignment as personal convention security detail to the International COGIC Music Department under the leadership of President Dr. Judith Mcallister in 2010. Elder Jackson has also attended Mid-Hudson Bible Institute and NYS Chaplains Task Force Certification program where in 2021 he was sworn in as a Certified NYS Chaplain. In 2024 Elder Jackson received NACC Board Certified Christian Counseling Certification.

Elder Jackson is encouraged to continue to serve and to be faithful by the example of his former pastor, Pastor John Johnson, “a servant of God who was faithful to the things of God and to the people of God until his death.” His goal and mission are “to aide and assist the leadership of the body of Christ” Elder Jackson has been married to Lady LaToya Jackson since May 12, 2012 and they have 4 children. In 2014, he heard the call to start his own ministry called “God Is Calling Ministries”. It is a ministry geared toward reaching out to people to let them know that God is calling them to a greater purpose in life and that all they have to do is choose to answer the call!

In June 2021, Supt Vincent Teague and Bishop James Wright asked Elder Jackson if he would be willing to consider stepping in to oversee The Harvest Place Church after the passing of its Pastor, Elder Russell Bellamy in 2020. Elder Jackson is humbly grateful to continue to build on the great foundation that the former Pastors have laid. In May of 2023 Pastor Jackson was officially installed the new Pastor of The Harvest Place Church by Bishop James Wright. Where he currently serves.
